Casal de' Cherubini is an ancient
agricultural estate which has been in the Cherubini family since the early 16th
century, and is still active in the cultivation of approximately 50 hectares of
crops, secular forests and olive groves. Deeply rooted in the territory the
estate has its centre in the large villa surrounded by a vast tree-lined park.
In addition to the main agricultural activities, Casal de' Cherubini has
developed a longstanding tradition of hospitality.
Perpetuating this tradition Casal de’
Cherubini can now offer its guests a fully restored complex of four independent
and completely furnished apartments recovered from ancient country houses within
the park surrounding the estate (see "apartments").
The apartments are available for long term residential rentals.
In the heart of Umbria
Casal de' Cherubini is located in the heart of the Umbria
region at the edge of the medieval hamlet of
Oro,
in the municipality of Piegaro.
The hamlet is located at 350m of height on the wooded hills sSouth of the Trasimeno
Lake. Renown historical villages such as Panicale
and Citta della Pieve
are only a few minutes away and Perugia
is just 25 km from.
Casal de' Cherubini is the ideal point of departure for the exploration of the
rich artistic and natural heritage of the Umbria region.
Casal de' Cherubini can be reached in just 1,5 hours by
car (150km) from either Rome or Florence via the A1 highway with exit to
Valdichiana coming from the North and Fabro coming from the South.
The main national and international flight connections are
assured by the airports of Rome (either Fiumicino or Ciampino), Florence (Amerigo
Vespucci), or Pisa (Galileo Galilei). Some destinations are also connected to
the regional airport of Perugia S. Egidio.
The railway station of Chiusi-Chianciano Terme is
only 15 km away and is served by bus and taxi services.
